Mr. Perez is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance and Music Education in 2012 and a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance in 2014. As a graduate assistant, he fell in love with chamber music. He studied with Helen Goode-Castro, Dr. Michael Grego, and Lawrence Hughes throughout his musical career in Los Angeles.
As a music educator, Mr. Perez has coached at schools like East Whittier Middle School and Anaheim City School District, taught clarinet master classes at Long Beach State, True Brass Choir, and has had various experience in non-profit organizations like Young Musicians Foundation and East Youth Services/The Harmony Project.
Mr. Perez was formerly the Music Education Director for the San Luis Obispo Symphony and now uses his skills in administration at Tolosa Children’s Dental Center, a non-profit that provides quality dental care to children in the under-served community in SLO County.
