Heidi Butterfield

Ms. Butterfield is an oboe/English horn player and private oboe teacher based in San Luis Obispo County. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Fresno State University and a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from the University of Northern Colorado. She studied oboe and English horn under Dr. Michael Adduci, Dr. Krista Rigss, Rachel Aldrich, Elizabeth Telling, and Dr. Euridice Alverez.

Ms. Butterfield started piano at the age of five, played violin and flute in elementary school, and finally chose oboe in the seventh grade. Currently, she works at Pacific Eye and is Board President of  the SLO Wind Orchestra. Outside of music, she lines to with her cats, Matty and Ralph Meowchio, as well as knitting, and scrap booking.

Ms. Butterfield teaches beginning and intermediate oboe lessons, as well as reed making lessons. She has a background playing in many different musical settings, including symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, woodwind quintet, and many other various chamber ensembles. She has played with a variety of ensembles on the Central Coast, including the SLO Symphony, SLO Wind Orchestra, Symphony of the Vines, San Luis Chamber Orchestra, Opera SLO Orchestra, and the Santa Maria Philharmonic.
